What hackers pick instead

• CoolifyGives a Vercel-like one-click deploy experience on your own cheap VPS, such as Hetzner, for free. Common caveat: the UI can feel clunky and configuration overwhelming.38recommend
• DokployOpen source platform that deploys apps and databases to your own VPS with a clean interface, giving Heroku-style workflows without the hosting fees.19recommend
• StackdomeOpen-source, MIT-licensed, self-hostable alternative to Railway that runs on Kubernetes without hand-written YAML. One critic says Kubernetes is overkill for a single VPS.8recommend
• DiscoOpen-source platform for running your own PaaS, with Docker-based deployments that stay portable and avoid requiring VMs. People praise its simple CLI and web UI.7recommend
• TofuLets AI agents deploy full-stack apps and handle database and DNS setup, which people say saves time for indie devs and small teams.7recommend
