# Apple Studio Display

65 Hacker News commenters recommended Apple Studio Display and 53 criticized it, November 2025 to November 2026. It was recommended in 10 of 13 months.

**Verdict:** Praised for sharp text, high pixel density, and color accuracy, and for working smoothly with Macs. Main caveat: it is expensive and the standard model has a 60Hz refresh rate.

## Why people recommend it

- Sharp text and high pixel density (6 comments): "it is noticeably better than my 4k displays and my 1440p displays feel positively ancient and near unusable for text" ([source](https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=47809926)) "Prior generation Studio Display is the only external display that truly worked for text heavy work with my eyes" ([source](https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=47233014)) "I bought one for coding. ## What people warn about
