What hackers pick instead

• Halt and Catch FireA drama about the 1980s–90s computer industry, praised for capturing the era and its people, though some found it weaker after season one and technically unrealistic.166recommend
• Babylon 5Fans praise its character arcs, foreshadowing and storytelling that pays off across seasons. Critics agree its dated effects are the main drawback.86recommend
• Silicon Valley (TV series)People recommend it as a comedy that satirizes the 2010s tech industry with accurate detail. Some critics say it turned dark and heavy-handed.52recommend
• The WirePraised as a realistic, honest portrayal of institutions and failure, with memorable characters and strong writing. Critics say it sometimes falls down and feels dated for its time.39recommend
• Star Trek: Strange New WorldsPeople recommend it for its classic Star Trek feel, self-contained episodes and better writing than other recent Trek shows. The common caveat is too many gimmicky or goofy episodes, and weaker drama in later seasons.34recommend
